a few weeks ago james began complaining that his right foot hurt. last week, it got really painful for him when he stubbed his toe on something, so i suggested we go to the urgent care & see if anything was wrong. unfortunately, he has no insurance at this time due to his family's furniture store & flooring stores going out of buisness. his new job won't give him insurance until he's worked there for six months. the visit to urgent care was 75 dollars cash. the time spent at the urgent care was a maximum of eight minutes. the doctor simply looked at his foot and told him he had an ingrown. then he told him he would need surgery for it. more money woes. surgery without insurance is expensive. i finally found a doctor in chillicothe who would do james craig's surgery for 100 dollars even. his appointment was tuesday @ 1:30. jame's didn't get off work until 10:30 (pm) on monday, then we drove down to chillicothe & got there late that same night. we stayed at his old house overnight & in the morning he went to work at what's left of his family's business for some extra money and i went to the hospital to get some lab work done (i'm now on lithium as well as seroquel). i had eight blood samples done. EiGHT. christ. the woman poked me with that needle like there was no tommorrow, and if i didn't in fact like needles i would have hated her. she couldn't read my psychiatrist's handwriting on the lab work form, so she just decided to take an extra sample and then call him after i left. i guess in all fairness i only should have had seven samples done but still. damn. it was very pretty watching the blood go into tube after tube (after tube, after tube, after tube, after tube, after tube, after tube), but a bit monotonous. anyway after i was done there, it was time to pick up james for his long-awaited surgery (we only drove one car down). when we got there, all the guy had to do was cut a minute piece of james craig's nail that had gotten forced under the skin. james wasn't even numbed. and so the doctor let us off the hook paywise, even though we asked him a few times if he was sure. he was so nice. and just like that, all our money woes were gone (even though james had just conned his mother into writing him a check for the 100$)=. so that's enough about that.
we were going to hang out with carly, but she never called us back. hyrve (another old chillicothe friend, though more so james craig's than mine) had called me the day before and asked if we wanted the see the new pirates movie. i said sure. james had called tim (yet another old friend) and asked if he wanted to hang out that day as well. he said yes. so tim came over first (to james craig's old house) & hyrve came awhile later. we all played apples to apples with amberdawn & dante for awhile, hyrve decided he had to go home & study(!?) and then after much indecision, we (me, james, tim) decided that we were for sure going to the new pirates of the caribbean @ 7:40, but we had to hurry because it had started five minutes ago. of course i was the driver & we carefully sped down western ave to water to bridge in a matter of minutes. and there we were. pirates of the caribbean 3. we watched, and after two hours and 45 minutes of sword flying and cannonballs exploding and timely marriage we were done. and it was very late. we took tim home, picked up some records @ james craig's old house, & then went to mine for my paint and some art stuff. we got back home at the glorious time of 1:30 in the morn.
after much sleeping i am finally up. my mission for the day is to decorate a new piece of furniture we've acquired. i'm thinking i'm gonna paint it black and then collage over it and finish off with some spray paint & sealant.
but first. oh first, i must go pay the rent to the apartment that still has no working air conditioning. (it's 89 degrees in here at the moment) maybe i'll take an ice cold shower first so i don't feel so disgustingly hot. but after that, it's SO on to the furniture endeavour.
i'll update later when perhaps my laptop will not be burning my lap, but rather a cd or dvd.
